I hope it's not ask that question, because then your second would be up. :P Cut the red wire--it's always the red wire. :D Hahahaha.
What "would" you do? You can never know such a thing. In that moment, you will find out what you're made of, whether or not you've be living what you believe or merely lying to yourself.
Matthew 26:35 AMP "Peter said to Him, Even if I must die with You, I *will* not deny or disown You! And all the disciples said the same thing."
:) I don't know what your post was about, but I thought I'd address the issue of "would", anyway. :) Trust God "now" (Psalms 37).
Well, yeah. I was thinking again. Of how short life really is. And thinking of the "would be", "could be", and "should be"s are just making it shorter. True, we'll never know our future. Or it wouldn't be a future anymore. And we'll never know what would have happened if we took the other path. So, why waste time?
Yet, I still find it hard to disregard those thoughts. (And probably the case why I'd always look so stoned thinking about them!). One can never stop being curious, or can one? But yes and amen to that. In everything I do or will do, trust God NOW.
Haha. I only said it because I have gone through (and still do) the "should-a, would-a, could-a's". :P To bring up our friend, Peter, again:
Matthew 14:28-31 AMP "And Peter answered Him, Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water. He said, Come! So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water, and he came toward Jesus. But when he perceived and felt the strong wind, he was frightened, and as he began to sink, he cried out, Lord, save me [from death]! Instantly Jesus reached out His hand and caught and held him, saying to him, O you of little faith, why did you doubt?"
The question's not "what would have happened if"; the fact is that it did happen--and what a glorious fact! :D Not all of these musings are selfish; many are very legitimately God himself bringing them back to us. Why? To show us how dumb we were? No. To show us that He's the Master Engineer; that He was always in control. And He will keep bringing these things back to us until we put them into His hands--until we admit, "Yes, Lord, you are my Potter". We have to make sure we stay on the wheel and quit trying to shape ourselves. :)
